How You Can Help
TEACHING ARTISTS
We will soon have a few positions open for additional dance teachers and teaching assistants. If you have available time during the school day and want to help school children learn to dance, we'd love to hear from you.
We will provide training in our teaching methods for some qualified individuals.
VOLUNTEERS
We sincerely appreciate any teachers or teaching assistants who may wish to donate their services. In addition, we can also use volunteers to help with the following.
The clothes closet and getting the shoes and clothes to the children who need them.
To assist us in various ways at dance demonstrations and events.
Any other expertise you may have to offer.
BRING BALLROOM DANCING TO YOUR SCHOOL!
If your school does not have a ballroom dance program, talk to your child's teacher or principal and suggest they contact us either by phone or e-mail. (see our "contact us" page)
HOW YOUR DONATION WILL HELP
$2500 will provide a 13 lesson semester course for one school, approximately 40 to 80 children.
$5000 will provide a 13 lesson semester course for 2 or 3 schools, depending on class sizes and enrollment.
$5000 will provide 2 semesters of ballroom dancing for one school with up to 80 children participating.
$1000 will help to cover the cost of survey research helpful in securing available grants.
$1000 will help train one or two teachers depending on their level of experience.
$500 to $1000 will subsidize the cost of additions to our "Clothes Closet", which makes loans of dress shoes and clothes for children needing appropriate apparel for dance performances.
$100 will cover the cost of one dance demonstration and lesson from a visiting expert ethnic dance teaching team, who will broaden the student's culural experince by engaging them in exciting ballroom dances of various cultures.
$50 will provide additional dance music for our dance music library which needs to be updated each year.
$20 will help provide 10 children with CD's of dance practice music to take home and keep. This is made possible by the generousity of our Music Services Advisor and gifted musical composer, Tim Stark.
SPECIAL NOTE: No donation is too small, and of course, no donation is too large. Culture through Ballroom Dance appreciates all assistance of any amount!
